Gloria Gargiulo D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Gloria Gargiulo is a Chicago native who grew up on the west side. She graduated from Loyola University in Chicago prior to beginning her dental education at Marquette University. She completed her periodontal studies, her Masters degree and residency at the University of Maryland Dental School. She has been in practice providing quality periodontal care to patients in the Chicagoland area since 1992. Her academic appointments include Northwestern University-Department of Post Graduate periodontics. She is a member of numerous prestigious dental organizations including the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, Chicago Dental Society and The Illinois State Dental Society (click on the icons below for more information). Dr. Gargiulo is married and has 3 children. She is active in her community, including being a board member of her local PTA and loves spending her spare time with her family.
Sherin Merchant D.D.S., Diplomat, Board of Periodontology
Dr. Sherin Merchant is our new Periodontist joining the practice this summer. She graduated with honors from the University of Florida with a bachelors in Biology and a minor in Disabilities in Societies. Dr. Merchant obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University where she was involved in many clubs ranging from the Periodontal Club, interprofessional educational group, and the South Asian dental association. During her time there she also completed a certificate in public health to better understand community needs related to health. In addition, she has published research articles and has given multiple presentations on original research during her dental studies. She then attended the Dental College of Georgia, where she received her specialty certificate in Periodontics. During her residency, Dr. Merchant was involved in a clinical research project looking at personalized pharmacogenomics in patients, aiming to provide more individualized dental care to the patients based on their genetic fingerprint. She also won the first place in Outstanding Achievement Award among all residents' presentations for her research on gum grafting at the Dental College of Georgia's annual research competition event.
Outside of the office Dr. Merchant enjoys traveling with her husband, listening to mystery podcasts, and cooking. She's been to 15 countries and counting!
